• Construction: Polyola Foam Blank- Two layers of 4 oz cloth on the deck, one on the bottom, saturated with epoxy resin.

The Flying Carpet is a compact version of a longboard it is our most popular retro style board, fun for a beginner or intermediate surfer looking to get to grips with ‘down the line surfing’ or more experienced surfer looking for a fun styling mid length surfboard. The Flying Carpet is a stable platform, with good weight carrying ability. The rocker is designed to balance good paddle speed, and wave catching with manoeuvrability. You can expect a high wave count in the lineup. A 10” centre fin box and either FCS11 or Future side boxes are fitted, so surf the Flying Carpet as either a single fin or 2+1 cruiser.
The Flying Carpet and the Maluku Genie are essentially the same board with different branding.
This 7’3 Version was hand shaped by Bill from a Polyola foam blank. Polyola is a a recyclable polyurethane foam based material that has a higher bio content than normal, the waste from shaping and the foam blank at the ‘end of life’ can be reconstituted back to a new blank. The blank was laminated with Biosap epoxy resin so this board would be classified as a high sustainable level.
Our Escape surfboards are made here in our small factory near Polzeath on the North Cornish coast and you are most welcome to come and see the process for yourself. We do our best to produce surfboards that are amongst the best in the world for quality at prices which importers cannot compete with on a like for like basis. We test all our models before putting them into production and normally have boards here that you can try.
