Designed and hand-shaped by Bill Attlee, the Brother is a highly versatile midlength surfboard built to perform across a wide range of wave conditions. Equally at home as a daily driver or a travel board, the Brother delivers dependable performance, paddle power, and flow in everything from clean point waves to everyday beach breaks.

Available in sizes from 6’6” to 8’2”, the Brother suits surfers of varying abilities, weights, and wave preferences.

Shape & Design

The Brother features an extended egg outline with the wide point positioned forward of centre. This places the main volume and surface area under your chest, making paddling fast and effortless while improving wave entry and take-off speed. Compared to a traditional midlength, the Brother has a narrower nose outline, helping you duck dive more easily and push through oncoming waves when conditions get busy.

A moderate rocker line combined with a rolled V through the nose contributes to the board’s excellent glide and wave-catching ability. These design elements work together to create a board that feels easy underfoot without sacrificing control or responsiveness.

Performance & Feel

Whether you’re a seasoned surfer or progressing your skills, the Brother offers a rare balance of stability, adaptability, and high performance. The rolled V nose transitioning into a flat V tail promotes smooth rail-to-rail transitions, while the medium-thin rails provide reliable hold, drive, and confidence when the wave face steepens.

This Board – 8’0 Demo Version

This particular 8’0” Brother was hand-shaped by Bill using a Surfblanks polyurethane blank, then glassed and sanded during the Christmas holiday. It features deep double Booster twin concaves between the side bites and the centre fin box. These Booster concaves add lift and drive through the tail, helping the board plane earlier, increase overall speed, and improve control. The increased water pressure through the fins also enhances hold when committing to deeper, more powerful turns.
